Taser to supply Axon body cameras with Evidence.com to Montgomery County

Taser International has received contracts to supply its Axon body-worn video cameras and Evidence.com solution from Montgomery County’s law enforcement agencies.

Received in the second quarter of this year, the contracts require the company to supply 220 Axon Flex cameras with five years of Evidence.com to the Portsmouth Police Department.

The Montgomery County Police Department has ordered160 Axon Flex and Body cameras with five years of Evidence.com and Taser Assurance Plan (TAP).

The Ventura Police Department, Rochester Police Department, Gardena Police Department, Pleasanton Police Department, Ithaca Police Department, Staunton Police Department, Anaheim Police Department, University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill, as well as the Norfolk Police Department each will receive 90, 100, 100, 86, 70, 50, 50, 50, and 30 Axon Flex cameras, respectively with years of Evidence.com and TAP.

Powered by a pocket-sized battery pack, Axon cameras are small, yet highly visible, and can be attached securely to sunglasses, a cap, a shirt collar, or a head mount.

While recording, the cameras capture a wide-angle, full-colour view of what an officer is facing and the video automatically uploads through a docking station to Evidence.com, where it can be easily accessed for review.
