Ukraine places order for 200 Dozor-B Small LAVs

Ukraine has placed an order with Kharkiv Morozov Machine-Building Design Bureau to deliver 200 Dozor-B armoured vehicles for deployment as mobile units with Armed Forces of Ukraine and National Guard.

The serial production of ‘Dozor-B’ would further bolster the defensive capacity of Ukrainian military units, while offering the enterprises of national defence industrial complex with the significant orders.

Claimed to be economical compared to other armoured personnel carriers, the new manoeuvrable, fast, all-terrain mobility vehicle offers maximum speed of 120kmph.

Ukraine Acting President Oleksandr Turchinov was quoted by Defence-Aerospace as saying that the small armoured personnel carrier Dozor-B is necessary both for mobile units of Armed Forces of Ukraine and National Guard.

"Vehicle has recommended itself well," Turchinov added.

"We make an emphasis on the orders of Ukroboronprom."

The order was placed after viewing presentation of ‘Dozor-B’ main specifications as well as inspection of the shell by Ukrainian Interior Minister Arsen Avakov and commanders of the battalions concerned with Kiev’s ‘anti-terrorist operation’ towards the east of the country.

Kharkiv Morozov Machine claims that Dozor offers high manoeuvrability in the comparison with other armoured vehicles of the same class.
