Leidos wins US DTRA contract to offer modelling and simulation support

Leidos has been awarded a contract by the US Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) to offer modelling and simulation support.

Awarded as part of Combating Weapons of Mass Destruction (CWMD) Research and Technology Development contract, the single-award cost-plus fixed-fee task order comes with a five-month performance base period, two one-year options.

The overall contract value will be $12m, if all options are exercised.

Work under the contract, to be executed at Fort Belvoir in Virginia and in San Diego, California, involves offering modelling and simulation support for web-based joint collaboration chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear and high-yield explosives (CBRNE) assessment tools.

Leidos will also be responsible for the provision of a set of collaborative CBRNE assessment tools with access from all through the Department of Defense (DoD) and government agencies and offer deliberative planning as well as evaluations of CBRNE events.

Offering a mechanism for rapid collaboration between subject matter experts, the web-based assessment tools will also help the DoD and US Government agencies in guiding rapid response to CBRNE incidents.

Leidos has been supporting the DTRA’s CBRNE mission by developing tools to offer US Government agencies appropriate and actionable data significant to the planning and response to CBRNE events across the world.

The DTRA provides the DoD’s core intellectual, technical and operational support capability for defying threats due to weapons of mass destruction CBRNE.
