Damen to build fourth Stan Patrol 2606 type vessel for Astinave

Damen Shipyards Group has been awarded a contract by Astinave (Ecuador) – Astilleros Navales Ecuatorianos EP to deliver fourth Stan Patrol 2606 type vessel.

The vessels will be the last of this SPa 2606 series for the Ecuadorian Coastguard.

As part of the contract, the vessel’s detailed engineering along with a complete material package will be delivered by Damen and will be built locally by Astinave.

Currently, the Ecuadorian Coastguard operates three 87ft long Damen Stan Patrols 2606, featuring advanced equipment and are capable of reaching a speed of 30k.

Under the Strategic Alliance Framework Agreement, Damen and Astinave agreed to transfer of knowledge and technology more than 10 years ago.

Astinave’s personnel have already provided with theoretical and practical training at Damen’s Gorinchem headquarters in the Netherlands.

Damen had signed a contract at the end of September 2011 to start building a Stan Patrol 2606 at Astinave yard in Ecuador.

The successful cooperation between Astinave and Damen has resulted in the delivery of a Stan Tug 1405, a Stan Tug 1606, two CSD’s 450 and two CSD’s 500 in recent years.

Damen’s vessels are currently under construction at third party shipyards in, amongst others, Mexico, Ecuador, Brazil and Argentina in Latin America.
