WYMD installs AtHoc IWS system for personnel protection

Wyoming Military Department (WYMD) ) in the US, has installed the AtHoc-built AtHoc Interactive Warning System (AtHoc IWS) for safety and accountability of 2,500 personnel.

The deployment covers the Wyoming Army National Guard, the Wyoming Air National Guard, the Joint Force HQ in Cheyenne, the Camp Guernsey training base and multiple subordinate units and armories across the state.

Chief Warrant Officer, Four (CW4) Shane Mickelson said the AtHoc system enables mission-essential personnel to make quick, informed decisions while reducing response time when seconds count.

"During an emergency, AtHoc’s enterprise-class solution introduces a collaborative environment among dispersed rescue teams, a critical component that was missing in our previous system," Mickelson added.

The AtHoc emergency mass notification system will be used by WYMD to communicate with state emergency management HQs and civilian law enforcement agencies while the Joint Force HQ will also interface with the Wyoming Office of Homeland Security regularly and, potentially, other National Guard organisations.
