Optosecurity to provide screening management software and hardware to TSA

Optosecurity has been awarded a contractby the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Transportation Security Administration (TSA) under the Transportation Security Innovative Concepts Broad Agency Announcement.

Under the contract, Optosecurity will deliver OptoScreener and eVelocity, advanced detection and screening management software and hardware to TSA for installation and testing in various TSA evaluation locations.

Optosecurity president and CEO Eric Bergeron said the company expects Optosecurity solutions can significantly contribute to TSA goals.

"Optosecurity applauds TSA for its efforts to implement effective risk-based security solutions and specifically Mr. Pistole’s focus on ‘delivering the most effective security in the most efficient way," Bergeron added.

OptoScreener can be integrated on to existing X-ray detection platforms to automatically detect liquid explosives, other liquid threats, bottles, firearms, firearm parts, and other threats.

The eVelocity solution has been designed to enable airports to gather and integrate real-time operational data from multi-vendor X-ray machines.

Recently, the company’s liquid explosive detection systems (LEDS) has completed European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC) Type C Performance Standard 2 certification.

Currently installed in major airports in Europe, Optosecurity solutions offer efficiency, effectiveness, security, and cost savings benefits to airports, regulating entities, and the travelling public at airport checkpoints.
