American Science to deliver sentry portal system to Asian government agency

American Science and Engineering (AS&E) has been awarded a contract by an undisclosed government agency in Asia to deliver the sentry portal cargo screening system.

Under the contract, AS&E will supply sentry portal cargo inspection solution to inspect air cargo pallets and containers before being loaded onto the aircraft.

AS&E’s president and CEO Anthony Fabiano said, "The Sentry Portal’s high-throughput, high penetration capability enables aviation security officials to inspect very dense and complex cargo while providing a rapid cycle-time for inspection."

Sentry portal high-throughput, high-penetration, drive-through cargo inspection solution is used to detect hidden threatening materials, weapons, and contraband in cargo containers, without obstructing the flow of commerce.

The system can also screen cargo safely and effectively for explosive threats, drugs, and other contraband.

The sentry portal system delivers unique combination of high-throughput capability and unsurpassed image quality and ensures safe drive-through operation for drivers, operators, and cargo.

In addition to drive-through detection capability, the sentry portal system can inspect a very high percentage of cargo using a high-energy transmission x-ray source with high-penetration into inspected objects.

The compact size of the system enables it to be installed easily in areas with space constraints.
