US ICE awards background investigations contract to CSC

The US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Office of Professional Responsibility has awarded a contract to CSC to conduct employee and contractor background investigations.

The contract follows the previously awarded contract to CSC in 2002, under the US General Services Administration Schedule 738X.

Under the recent contract, CSC will perform background investigations and provide reports of the investigation on federal and contractor applicants.

In order to enable the government to establish employment suitability, the company will also prepare reinvestigation reports under the terms of the contract.

CSC’s Homeland Security and Law Enforcement Division vice president and general manager Patrick Schambach said, "Our work in support of this task order enables Immigration and Customs Enforcement to operate with increased efficiency and greater visibility as we securely conduct background investigations."

"By leveraging our proven expertise in investigative methods, we will support the agency’s efforts to uphold its standards of integrity and professionalism in hiring only the most qualified applicants."

CSC will provide ICE with real-time access to case status using its web-based case management application to manage workflow and assignments and store all related documents in support of this work.

The $54m contract, signed in the second quarter of 2013, has a one-year base period of performance and four option years.
