ATLAS North America (ANA) has announced their attainment of a significant milestone in the company history.
Demonstrating their commitment to excellence and process improvement, ANA’s Quality Management System (QMS) has been certified to meet ISO 9001:2008 requirements in the provision of maritime systems design and fabrication services, depot level repair, maintenance, modifications, spare part procurement, and engineering support services to government and commercial agencies.
The certification was granted by DNV-GL applies to ANA’s facilities in Yorktown, Virginia, and Panama City, Florida.
ISO 9001 is a global standard that defines the requirements for an effective system of linked processes, designed to enable the organisation to meet technical requirements of products, improve customer satisfaction, and identify opportunities for improvement.
ANA’s ISO 9001 QMS will serve as the foundation for growth and expansion of their product and partner portfolios while consistently meeting customer needs and expectations.
DNV-GL is required to perform yearly surveillance audits to verify conformance to ISO 9001:2008 with recertification typically occurring every third year. Due to the release of a new revision of the ISO standard, ANA will be certified to ISO 9001:2015 on or before 17 September 2018.
"Attaining ISO 9001 certification is not a trivial exercise," says Sergio Diehl, President of ANA. "It was an ambitious goal of ours for 2016.
"Implementing these QMS processes will improve the quality of our products and services we deliver to customers and open doors to new markets. It’s really all about our commitment to continuous improvement. Everyone in our company was involved in this successful effort, I’m very proud of them."
