AS&E receives ZBV systems supply contract from undisclosed customer

American Science and Engineering (AS&E) has been awarded a contract from an undisclosed customer to provide ZBV mobile screening systems.

Under the contract, American Science and Engineering will supply a total of 33 ZBV mobile screening systems for use in security applications.

AS&E president and CEO Chuck Dougherty said, "The ZBV system’s unmatched ability to detect drugs, currency, trade fraud, contraband, and stowaways is creating new pipeline opportunities from both new and repeat customers in key geographic markets."

The ZBV system has been designed for immediate deployment and rapid inspection to reveal explosives, drugs, currency, alcohol, cigarettes and other organic threats or contraband.

Till date, the company delivered over 730 systems which are used by government agencies, border authorities, law enforcement, military organizations, and security agencies in more than 64 countries.

Separately, the company also received an order for the delivery of six Z Portal multi-view X-ray screening systems for an undisclosed customer from Middle East.

The Z Portal systems will be deployed to enhance checkpoint security and scan passenger vehicles, vans, trucks, and cargo for concealed threats and contraband.
