Cassidian to unveil new TETRA pager P8GR at PMR Expo 2013

Cassidian will introduce Tetra paging device P8GR at the Professional Mobile RadioPMRExpo 2013, being held in Koelnmesse, Germany.

Designed to meet the needs of voluntary fire brigades, relief organisations and critical infrastructure operators, the device enables secure two-way communication between the control centre and the operational units.

The system complies with the functional, interoperability and security requirements of the digital radio network of German security authorities and organisations (Behörden und OrganisationenmitSicherheitsaufgaben – BOS).

Available in two battery versions and can be charged from any standard USB socket (mains adaptor or in-car) using only the USB cable, the new Tetra pager provides all the essential Tetra features for alerting including group calls, to allow units to plan and carry out missions in real time.

The integrated micro-USB port significantly reduces operating expenses for the terminal fleet and enables the terminal user to programme the pager and conduct firmware updates using standard equipment.

Cassidian also offers Taqto intelligent terminal management solution in addition to the terminal device and accessories.

The Taqto, which acts as a terminal asset management system, has been designed to allow the user organisations involved in managing record of all devices in the field, including their parametre configurations.

In addition to providing versatile configuration options for programming the pagers to suit the needs of the different user organisations, Taqto supports remote firmware updates for the pager through the secure connections while significantly facilitating the administration of the pager fleet in the field.
