Cubic to deliver Personnel Locator Systems for US military

Cubic has been contracted to deliver its Personnel Locator Systems (PLS) for use by the US military, as part of an indefinite delivery indefinite quantity contract with the customer.

Under the nearly $3.4m contract, Cubic will provide upgraded PLS with improved voice and data transfer capabilities.

Used by the US military on several different Combat Search and Rescue (CSAR) and Search and Rescue (SAR) platforms, the upgraded PLS systems are smaller, lighter, and more powerful than their predecessors.

The systems can be used by combat search-and-rescue crews to locate and extract downed pilots quickly and without detection by enemy forces.

Primarily designed for installation on rotary wing aircraft, the PLS system has been modified and can be equipped on selected fixed wing aircraft that support modern personnel recovery missions.
