Environmental Tectonics to deliver ADMS training system for Netherlands

The Netherlands Defense Materiel Organization has awarded a contract to Environmental Tectonics to deliver an advanced disaster management simulator (ADMS).

Under the contract, the company will provide ADMS simulator to educate, assess, and train fire and rescue services personnel.

Initially delivered to the Fire Academy of the Royal Netherlands Air Force (RNLAF) at Woensdrecht Air Force Base, the portable ADMS-Airbase virtual reality training system will be deployed by mobile training teams to provide on-site training to all other bases and facilities in the Netherlands.

The training system will be installed to meet specific requirements of the RNAF vehicles as well as aircraft such as General Dynamics F-16 Fighting Falcon, Pilatus PC-7 turbo trainer aircraft, McDonnell Douglas KDC-10 Tanker aircraft, Lockheed Martin C-130 Hercules as well as Boeing’s AH-64D Apache, Chinook CH-47F.

The simulator will also support avoidance of road traffic accidents, hazmat situations, wild land and structural fires.

ADMS-Airbase comprises a military airbase with hangers, aircraft shelters, support facilities, ammunition storage, residential areas, and runways.

RNLAF Fire Academy chief major Rob Venmans said that the live fire training facility will provide mission-ready fire personnel at all times.

"With ADMS we can prepare our personnel properly in a high-fidelity virtual reality environment for live fire training and for all critical situations that cannot be trained live at all," Venmans added.

"Now we will be able to provide On Scene Commander courses without calling in trucks with crews and all types of aircraft, which saves us resources, time and money."

The ADMS-Airbase system features Environmental Tectonics’ signature simulation technology as well as SmartModel library to enable unlimited scenario capabilities for users.
