Harris, AIS partner to provide custom satellite solutions

Harris CapRock Communications has signed an agreement with AIS Engineering to provide end-to-end solutions to an intelligence community customer under a Custom Satellite Solutions (CS2) Small Business task order.

Under the terms of the agreement, the team will provide US satellite, teleport, terrestrial and engineering services for the customer.

The solution provides multiple options for the customer to access these same custom end-to-end communications solutions across the world.

CS2 forms a part of the Future Commercial SATCOM Acquisition (FCSA) programme, which is managed by the General Services Administration (GSA) and the Defense Information Systems Agency.

The FCSA comprises a comprehensive set of acquisition activities which replaces expired and expiring DISA and GSA contracts, including DSTS-G and Inmarsat Bridges.

Harris CapRock government solutions president David Cavossa said, "Working with CS2 contract awardees, we continue to meet the critical communications needs of our longstanding customers."

The task order has a one-year base period of performance with four option years and is valued at a minimum of $10m, if all option years are exercised.

Harris CapRock has also been approved as vendor on other elements of the FCSA programme, which are managed through the GSA Federal Supply Schedule 70 vehicle.

The company provides managed satellite and terrestrial communications solutions for remote and harsh environments including the energy, government and maritime markets.
