Harris receives orders for Falcon tactical radios

Harris has received orders for the delivery of Falcon tactical radios to NATO country and an undisclosed nation in Latin America.

The $36m order from a NATO country involves delivery of the Falcon II AN/PRC-150(C) HF radios in both manpack and vehicular configurations.

The procurement of AN/PRC-150 radios would offer the NATO country’s special forces with Type-1 secure voice and data communications for beyond-line-of-sight environments.

Harris RF Communications International Business president Brendan O’Connell said that Harris HF radios enable military personnel to stay connected from the most unforgiving geographies for tactical communications.

"We now are focused on extending that legacy into the next generation," O’Connell said.

Another order, worth $28m, from an undisclosed nation in Latin America involves delivery of Falcon III RF-7800S Secure Personal Radios and RF-7800V Combat Net Radios.

In addition, Harris will also deliver Falcon II RF-5800H High Frequency Radios, which would boost communications interoperability between US and partner forces.

Upon deployment, the radios would assist in offering a mission-critical tactical communications system against drug smuggling and other international cross-border criminal activities.

"Harris radios provide users with enhanced command and control and situational awareness for real-time decision-making and set the standard for reliability and interoperability," O’Connell added.

"These capabilities are crucial for a well-coordinated response to illicit drug trafficking and other challenges addressed by the nation’s security forces."
