Hong Kong Police Force selects Arotech’s live-fire simulation training system

Hong Kong Police Force has selected Arotech subsidiary Training and Simulation Division’s IES Interactive Training unit to supply modern interactive laser and live-fire firearms training simulators.

Under the $3.8m contract, Arotech will deliver, install and support IES’s exclusive MILO range firearms training simulators with live-fire capability into 34 mini-ranges for training various Hong Kong Police Forces’ tactical and educational units.

The contract has been awarded by the Government Logistics Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region in the People’s Republic of China.

Prior to the selection, the system had undergone validation phase and features, past performance & company history evaluation as well as full compliance scored demonstration with highly detailed performance specification for accuracy & realism.

Arotech IES’s general manager Robert McCue said, "IES’s MILO Range laser-based training simulators have long been the de facto system of choice for law enforcement and public safety agencies in the United States, Europe, and Latin America."

"Now that the technical and training experts within the Hong Kong Police Force have selected MILO to satisfy their live-fire simulation training requirements, we are in position to extend the benefits of IES MILO training throughout Asia."

Deliveries under the contract are scheduled to commence in the fourth quarter of 2012 and will continue in phases over a 24-month period.

Over a ten-year period, the contract has an option for system support and maintenance.
