Implant Sciences begins explosives trace detector shipments

Implant Sciences (IMSC) has shipped QS-H150 and QS-B220 Explosives Trace Detectors to consumers in Asia, Europe, Africa and Middle East.

Delivered as part of $400,000 order, the handheld and desktop explosives trace detectors will be deployed by critical infrastructure, air cargo facilities, VIP protection details, and national military organisations.

Implant Sciences Sales and Marketing vice president Dr Darryl Jones said that the diversity of customers in these shipments highlights the performance and flexibility of trace detection equipment across a broad spectrum of security requirements.

"Most of these are new customers, and in some instances we are replacing a competitor’s equipment," Jones said.

Implementing Ion Mobility Spectrometry (IMS) technology, the QS-H150 offers fast, accurate detection of traces of a range of military, commercial, and homemade explosives.

The device does not contain any radioactive materials, while its low-maintenance, self-calibrating, and self-clearing design boosts operational availability in wide variety of temperatures and challenging environments, from humid jungles to dry, sand swept deserts.

Featuring a radioactive material-free design, push-button maintenance and diagnostics, and a patented inCal internal automatic calibration system, the QS-B220 offers enhanced performance and convenience to desktop trace detection users with improved accessibility.
