LRAD delivers first mobile LRAD 360X system to State DHSEM

LRAD has successfully delivered the mobile LRAD 360X systems to a state Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management (DHSEM) in the US.

LRAD Corporation president and CEO Tom Brown said state DHSEM’s and their first responders can use mobile LRAD 360X to provide enhanced broadcast range with a powered mast that quickly extends over 20ft.

"Broadcasting safe, crystal clear emergency warnings and instructions from LRAD 360X and other LRAD systems ensure survivors hear potentially lifesaving communications over large areas, even inside cars and buildings," Brown added.

The full ruggedised LRAD 360X has been designed to broadcast powerful emergency/warning siren sounds, multi-language messages in a 360° pattern over distances up to 2 miles.

Field upgradeable for added sound coverage, the LRAD 360X also provides flexible power options including battery backup, generator backup and solar.

Using the modular LRAD 360X, users will be able to customise the broadcast area footprint for mass notification systems and wildlife protection requirements.

"Moreover, when incorporated with our solar powered option, the unprecedented clarity and range of the LRAD 360X makes it ideal for mobile or tower-based border and perimeter security installations," Brown continued.

The LRAD 360X systems can broadcast information during and after potentially catastrophic events including tornadoes, hurricanes, tsunamis, flooding, wildfires, armed gunman, bomb threats, area or building lockdowns, CBRN incidents and other natural and man-made disasters.

State DHSEM provides coordination, guidance, support and assistance to local emergency managers and first responders to ensure the protection of life and property.
