LRAD to supply LRAD 300X systems for International Coast Guard

LRAD, a provider of long range acoustic hailing devices (AHDs), has been awarded a contract to supply LRAD 300X systems for installation on international coastal patrol boats, which are currently undergoing construction.

Under the $700,000 contract, LRAD will deliver 300X systems, beginning this quarter and continue as the patrol boats are delivered for deployment over the next 12 months.

LRAD Corporation president and CEO Tom Brown said, "The attention commanding voice broadcasts and deterrent tones of our LRAD systems enable Coast Guard personnel to unequivocally determine the intent of vessels not responding to radio calls and create large standoff zones to safely conduct maritime interdiction operations."

The LRAD 300X is a low profile, lightweight AHD designed to broadcast highly intelligible voice communications and powerful deterrent tones over distances of 350m to 1.5km.

Capable of deploying on small vessels, security and defence vehicles, and remote weapon stations, the LRAD 300X features extended frequency range to ensure multilingual voice commands are clearly heard and understood, even in severe weather conditions.

Additionally, the LRAD 300X can be used to create large standoff zones, determine intent, safely alter behaviour, peacefully resolve uncertain situations and save lives on both sides of the long range acoustic device.
