Middle East orders additional Implant Sciences’ QS-H150 detectors

The Middle East has purchased additional Implant Sciences’ Quantum Sniffer QS-H150 handheld explosives trace detectors to protect and safeguard VIPs amidst increasing political conflicts in the region.

Commenting on the sale, Implant Sciences’ vice president of Sales and Marketing Darryl Jones said, "Dignitary protection forces put their lives on the line every day. They require explosives trace detection that is portable, reliable, and easy to use."

"The Middle East presents a challenging environment for system performance levels, given temperature extremes and high dust levels," Jones added. "With sales to the region extending back to 2005, Implant Sciences’ products have proven their ability to cope with these conditions."

Integrated with patented vortex collector, the QS-H150 detector has been designed to detect explosives, particulates and vapours with or without physical contact and in real-time.

Following the detection or identification of a threat substance, the Quantum Sniffer QS-H150 quickly alerts the user by displaying on the integrated LCD screen, while limiting equipment contamination and allowing for ultra-fast clear-down.

Indicated by a visible and audible alarm, the advanced Quantum Sniffer can also detect parts-per-trillion (ppt) levels of explosives vapour and nanogram quantities of explosives particulates for threat substances.

The system has a provision for equipping a monitor and keyboard to access spectrogram display and analysis tools, administrative tools and diagnostics for the users.

The US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has designated the detector as Qualified Anti-Terrorism Technology under the Support Anti-terrorism by Fostering Effective Technology Act of 2002 (the SAFETY Act).
