Selex, Lockheed partner to provide ANWI for Nato’s headquarters

Selex ES, a Finmeccanica company, has partnered with Lockheed Martin to implement the active network infrastructure (ANWI) for Nato’s new headquarters in Brussels, Belgium.

Under the three-year contract, which has an option to extend up to a further five years for operation & maintenance activities, Selex ES will team up with Lockheed to provide secure communication services throughout the new Nato building.

The team will also provide wireless voice and data communication systems and IP television services for users’ devices for the building in Brussels.

Selex ES will also provide expertise to assist Lockheed to navigate the security accreditation process in compliance with Nato criteria as well as provide the lead for testing of the overall infrastructure as well as Engineering and Technical Support in a number of defined areas, as part of the contract.

In addition to being supported with enhanced capabilities, Nato staff and national delegations will be authorised to use preferred method of communication easily, reliably and securely.

In February 2012, Selex ES was selected to develop, implement and support the Nato Computer Incident Response Capability (NCIRC) – Full Operating Capability (FOC) to protect Nato against cyberspace threats.

Throughout 28 countries, NCIRC-FOC will enhance information assurance to around 50 Nato sites and headquarters.
