Texas Armoring launches new bomb-resistant SUVs

Texas Armoring Corporation (TAC) has introduced a new line of special explosion-resistant SUVs to provide protection against bombings and terrorist attacks across West Africa and the Middle East.

Based on the Toyota Land Cruiser platform, the new line of armoured, blast-mitigating vehicles will provide unprecedented amount of protection against undercarriage blasts, roadside explosions, IEDs, anti-personnel mines, and car bombs to the clients in areas like Nigeria, Iraq, Afghanistan, and Yemen.

TAC’s latest LC50 vehicle features T6 ultra-lightweight armouring package as well as specially angled ballistic-steel undershield and spall liner to protect passengers against high-power rifle fire, fragmentation mines, and small explosions.

The TAC LC50 also provides additional layer of protection on the outside of the vehicle to assist in dissipating the blast and more fully protect the occupants.

Bravo Zulu Services’ Jason Miller said of the LC100 said that the TAC is providing military-grade blast protection and the comfort of a regular SUV.

TAC president and CEO Trent Kimball said: "The LC100 will stop armour-piercing rounds and multiple pounds of C4 — it is serious, blast-eating protection and it is exactly what our clients need to stay safe from terrorist organizations like al-Qaeda and Boko Haram."

The company also launched LC250 that features TAC’s T8 heavy-duty protection package which defeats .50 calibre BMG rounds as well as Bravo Zulu’s solution for the undercarriage to defeat 6-7lbs of C4 (approx. equivalent of 35 hand grenades).

TAC EVP Jason Forston said: "In short, the LC250 would aide anyone looking to survive an unimaginable terrorist attack or doomsday scenario."

Additional features of the LC250 include military-grade, advanced barrage-jammer to provide protection for the occupants and any vehicles in the surrounding convoy from the most common bomb detonation threats.
