US DISA awards cyber security services contract to eGlobalTech

The US Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) has awarded a contract to eGlobalTech to provide cyber security services.

Under the contract, eGlobalTech will provide support for the cyber pilot for zero-day network defense (ZND) for the US Department of Defesce (DoD).

The company will also provide full life-cycle support which include programme management, technology evaluation and acquisition, testing, certification and accreditation, implementation and ongoing technical support.

eGlobalTech senior director for IT Security Dan Waddell said, "We are very pleased that DISA chose us to support this critical pilot which is key to mitigating the ongoing challenge that Zero-Day attacks pose to the military."

Recently, the US Government and private industry collaborated to jointly provide computer security exploited by zero-day attacks which developed vulnerabilities in computer applications.

The DISA Program Executive Office Mission Assurance and NetOps (PEOMA) Computer Network Defense Solutions (CND) Perimeter Defense Branch (IA31) provides Information Assurance (IA) capabilities for the Department of Defense.

The IA capabilities will assist the DoD in defending entirety of the Global Information Grid (GiG) and its connecting entities from cyber threats including developing integrated and interoperable net-centric IA architectural solutions.

eGlobalTech provides management consulting, IT services and cyber security solutions for the public and private sectors.

The company also provides support services for multiple federal customers which include the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, Department of State, and the Department of Energy.
