Boeing delivers Watchstander security systems to Delaware County

Boeing has delivered and installed its Watchstander integrated security solutions network near Philadelphia for emergency services providers and local law enforcement agencies in Delaware County, Philadelphia, US.

The delivery follows a previous $4.4m award to Boeing for design, procurement, install, integrate, test and maintain the system, as well as provide training to law enforcement and emergency services personnel.

Delaware County Council chairman Tom McGarrigle said that the Boeing Watchstander will ensure key resources are secured, monitored and protected by fully integrating land and maritime awareness with emergency response.

"There are more than 10 critical resources in this area that need the top-level security that Watchstander provides, including refineries that supply almost 80 percent of the petroleum needs for the northeastern United States," McGarrigle added.

Boeing Electronic & Mission Systems Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance and Force Protection director Mike Hettmann said, "We’re proud to partner with the Delaware County Council, the Delaware County Office of Emergency Services and other regional stakeholders to address critical infrastructure protection challenges with innovative and affordable solutions that can be adapted to a variety of environments."

Watchstander uses advanced suite of intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance sensors and systems to provide real-time situational awareness and information sharing capability for local, state and regional law enforcement personnel and first responders.

Capable of providing 24-hour surveillance, detection, identification and recognition capability, Watchstander will protect key Delaware River infrastructure, resources near Philadelphia.
