Centice launches enhanced MFL-3000 narcotics identification system

Centice had launched the new enhanced narcotics identification system, the Mobile Field Lab-3000 (MFL-3000).

The cost-effective MFL-3000 has been designed to enable narcotic squads and drug task forces to quickly and easily perform drug identification without destroy evidence in the field.

A unique spectral fingerprint of the substance will be scanned and created by the Centice’s patented Raman Spectroscopy technology after placing unknown material on the portable device.

The chemical fingerprint will be compared to over 3,600 illegal narcotics, cutting agents and controlled prescription drugs database of Centice to ensure objective and reliable identification.

Centice president and CEO Dr. Prasant Potuluri said, "These enhancements are part of our ongoing MFL-3000 product strategy. Centice is dedicated to providing law enforcement with a scientific tool, using an SWGDRUG Category A science, they can leverage at the scene to immediately identify confiscated substances."

Law enforcement professionals, through any internet connection, can quickly and easily install the narcotics identification system for updates which are provided by Centice for every six to eight weeks.

The MFL-3000 new enhancements include spectra matching improvement to enhance accuracy and sensitivity of the measurements used in matching sample spectra data to database spectra as well as ruggedness improvements to withstand 15 G’s of force for over a minute.

The spectra matching improvement also enables greater matches and insurance against creating false positives while lowering the spectrometer’s limit of detection (LOD).
