IntelliNet launches Lynx3-A to detect individuals inside cargo containers

US-based developer of multi-sensor breathing and heartbeat detectors IntelliNet Sensors has introduced new Lynx3-A mountable breathing detector system, developed to detect live persons inside cargo containers.

The systems’ networked and advanced sensors are designed to detect the existence of live persons hiding inside a container or a vessel, while an integrated video camera system and other sensors will be used to collect the information of the vehicle.

Lynx family’s patented Sense-Through-The-Air technology allows networking between the different units of the Lynx3-A to identify multiple hiding individuals inside a compartment.

The ultra-wideband radio frequency system is said to explore for changes in the electro-magnetic signature of a confined volume and registers its minuscule perturbations.

Its deployment across borders, loading docks of airplanes and vessels enable authorities to effectively detect and prevent human trafficking and illegal entry.

According to the company, the system provides better results than existing carbon dioxide detectors, sniffing dogs and X-ray or other heavily radiating systems.

IntelliNet Sensors founder and president Dr Fred Mohamadi said: "By remotely using the sensors in multiple points spatially, hiding individuals are detected in real-time at the fraction of capital expenditure and operating cost."

The company is involved in developing advanced electronic modules, which can be used in a wide range of commercial applications.
