IRGC speed vessels integrated with advanced radars, telecoms systems

The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has equipped its speed vessels with advanced radars and telecommunications systems.

IRGC Navy lieutenant commander rear admiral Majid Zamani was quoted by Fars News Agency as saying that it has built advanced hulls suitable for high speed and raging seas, modern propulsion systems and advanced nano-coverings for the speed vessels.

"We have also acquired radar and telecommunication systems which have been built specifically for speed vessels," Zamani added.

As part of efforts to attain self-sufficiency, the IRGC naval forces have also taken the delivery of a simulator for its in-house designed and manufactured Ashura-class boats, which is claimed to simulate situations on water, as well as weather conditions and rocket launches.

The Iranian Armed Forces are set to receive two radar systems for defensive surveillance, which will enable in carrying out high-altitude air surveillance.

In the area of radar subsystems, Iran has also built one x-ray lamp and a five-litre oxygen converter for the cockpit.

A new smart disruptive radar system has also been designed, which the Iranian defence minister claims can jam diverse radar waves and some of the missile guidance subsystems.
