MacB bags $900m USAF contract to offer homeland security services

MacAulay-Brown (MacB) has been awarded a contract by the US Air Force (USAF) to offer homeland defence and security research and analysis services.

Under the five-year, $900m, homeland defense and security technical area tasks (HD TATs) IDIQ contract, MacB will be tasked with delivering, homeland security-related research, development, test and evaluation (RDT&E) and advisory and assistance services (A&AS) to the USAF.

Specific work under the contract will be related to chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear defence; homeland defence and security; critical infrastructure protection, weapons of mass destruction, biometrics, medical, cultural studies and alternative energy focus areas.

MacB’s Mission Systems Group senior vice president and general manager Fred Norman said that the nature of the threat to the homeland is dynamic and growing.

"The work delivered as part of the HD TATs effort ensures that we are examining all aspects of current and future threats and designing programs to strengthen our defences," Norman added.

The contract has an ordering period of one year, with options for four one-year option periods, until the anticipated completion of the work by April 2019.

MacB is one of the 12 prime contractors selected for the USAF’s HD TATs IDIQ contract.
