PositiveID, DirectView to market products to homeland security and first responders

PositiveID has signed an agreement with DirectView Security Systems to jointly market the respective products to homeland security and first responders.

The agreement will cross market PositiveID’s biological detection and diagnostic solutions with DirectView’s video surveillance and body worn camera technologies.

PositiveID chairman and CEO William Caragol said: "We are excited to enter into this co-marketing agreement with DirectView to include video surveillance solutions and body worn cameras to our line of first responder products.

"Through collaborating with companies like DirectView we accomplish two important goals: adding synergistic products and leveraging the sales channels of both companies to maximise our efforts and achieve better results."

PositiveID develops a range of biological detection and diagnostics solutions, including Firefly Dx that can provide real-time, accurate diagnostic results in a handheld device for multiple applications.

Comprising a portable handheld instrument with wireless communication and disposable single-use cartridges featuring all necessary analytical elements, the system leads to treatment scenarios at the point of need not possible with current systems that require lab-based equipment and can take hours or even days to provide results.

Firefly Dx can be used by first responders for point-of-need, lab-quality detection of pathogenic organisms and detection of biological agents associated with weapons of mass destruction.

Headquartered in Boca Raton, US, DirectView manufactures and supplied body worn cameras, video storage servers, digital video recorders, and network video recorders, among other products and services, to address the requirements of first responders.
