QinetiQ wins US ONR’s Code 30 support services contract

QinetiQ North America (QNA) has been awarded a five-year contract to provide engineering, technical, programmatic and financial support services for the US Office of Naval Research’s (ONR) Expeditionary Maneuver Warfare and Combating Terrorism Department (Code 30).

Under the cost-plus fixed fee $16m contract, QinetiQ will lead a team of eight small and large businesses to support the full spectrum of Code 30’s requirements.

The company will provide services including systems engineering, programme management, operations research, social science/psychology, and integration and engagement with Code 30’s customers and stakeholders, as part of the contract.

QNA Defense Solutions business unit general manager Dave Shrum said, "It builds on the long track record of success we’ve had supporting our customers at ONR over the past 20 years, and we are excited to support Code 30 in advancing the state of science and technology to help the warfighter fight, win and survive in the battlefield of the future."

A part of the US Department of Defense (DoD), the ONR pursues the mission of coordinating, executing, and promoting science and technology programs for the US Navy and Marine Corps.

Code 30 supports the Marine Corps as its primary customer, within ONR, while advancing scientific knowledge and future concepts across a variety of thrust areas such as force protection, manoeuvre, logistics, fires, cyber-warfare, and human socio-cultural behaviour.
