SAIC to support USCG integrated health information system

The US Coast Guard (USCG) has awarded a prime contract to Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) to support its Integrated Health Information System (IHiS).

Under the single-award contract, as part of the EAGLE Master Agreement, SAIC will provide services and materials for the operational support of IHiS for the USCG.

The company will also provide operational support of the USCG IHiS which include information technology (IT) services; help desk support; and the Composite Health Care System (CHCS) sustainment.

SAIC senior vice president and business unit general manager Steve Comber said, "We’re pleased to support a valued customer in the U.S. Coast Guard and Department of State by providing critical IT services, integrating patient health records into one consolidated platform, and centralizing help desk support for the IHiS."

Service also includes data centre support such as system availability, system maintenance, failover site operations, configuration management, performance monitoring, security monitoring, wireless network operations, and mobile device management.

Designed to support healthcare operations for organisations including the USCG and the US Department of State, the IHiS will provide beneficiaries access from these organisations to their health records.

The contract has a one-year base period of performance, one twelve month option, one nine-month option and is valued approximately $17m, if all options are exercised.

Work will be conducted in Falls Church, Virginia; San Diego, California, US, and at the designated USCG Operations Systems Center.
