SAIC wins DTRA contract for sustainment and maintenance support services

Science Applications International (SAIC) has been awarded a task order by the US Department of Defense’s (DoD) Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) to offer sustainment and maintenance support services.

Awarded under the DTRA contracting vehicle, the one-year $13m contract, with a 12-month option, involves provision of sustainment support to Cooperative Threat Reduction (CTR) funded programmes, including material acquisition, receipt, storage, movement, distribution, maintenance, evacuation, and disposition.

Further, SAIC will also offer maintenance support services, including facilities and infrastructure maintenance, operation and disposition, and infrastructure assessment, repairs, maintenance.

The type of materials to be procured must be compatible with CTR mission objectives and ranging from equipment, reagents, supplies and consumables to transportation vehicles.

SAIC has been supporting DTRA and DoD programmes for a long time, which led to expansion of its global efforts to support their CTR mission.

DTRA contracting vehicle provides integrated logistics services, such as procurement, shipping, warehousing, international travel support, and programme support for global CTR operations.

The agency is the US DoD’s official Combat Support Agency for countering weapons of mass destruction.

Recently, DTRA also awarded a contract to Leidos to offer modelling and simulation support for web-based joint collaboration chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear and high-yield explosives (CBRNE) assessment tools.
