Smiths Detection unveils Elite chemical identifier

Smiths Detection has unveiled HazMatID Elite, designed to identify chemical warfare agents, explosives, toxic industrial chemicals, narcotics, suspicious powders, among other dangerous chemical classes.

The HazMatID Elite next-generation handheld unknown solid and liquid chemical identifier has been certified to the stringent military standard for use in harsh and high-temperature environment operations.

In addition to enhanced functionality such as intuitive interface and self-guided software, HazMatID Elite features encrypted wireless communications to support down range operations.

Capable of training personnel in an hour and requiring less number of resources than other comparable equipment, the system uses sampling techniques to identify suspicious powders with direct touch-to-sample capability.

Additional features of the system include long-range, embedded RF wireless transmission to enable rapid communication of data out of the hot zone while assisting in information integration and decision making.

The system also supports advanced data handling capabilities by using PC-based command software for specialised users.
